There’s a popular saying that being in a close relationship makes life’s highs twice as good, and it’s lows half as bad.

It’s also widely believed that women have to work twice as hard to get half as much success as men.

This unique piece is printed on beautiful vintage gold brocade fabric.

The typeface is from a set of antique rubber stamps that I inked and printed onto paper, before scanning and enlarging them to size. Each number is individually printed by hand onto the fabric and shows the texture and detail of the weave through the applied surface.

The hanging has been hand stitched onto a reclaimed length of wooden dowel and hangs from a cord made using threads from the fabric itself.
