Kettle of Fish Designs is a one woman business, managed by Karen Kench, creating unique designs for interiors, using mainly repurposed materials alongside an extensive library of historical photographs, illustrations and artwork.
“I use digital enhancement, image modification, and unusual materials to breathe new life into vintage illustrations and paintings. By blending these classic elements with modern design, I create pieces that are perfect for eclectic homes.
My work is more than just decor; it’s a reimagining of the familiar and transforms vintage book illustrations and classic paintings into unique art prints, fabrics, and home decor.
Sustainability is at the heart of my ethos. I prioritise natural materials and reclaim, repurpose, or recycle wherever possible. I’m also a firm believer in avoiding waste, which means my studio is filled with vintage drawers of ‘bits and bobs’ that might come in handy, ensuring that every material has a second chance at being beautiful.”
