Cat Dummy Board Cut Outs

Cat Dummy Board Cut Outs
Cat Dummy Board Cut Outs.
A cluster of cut out cats.
The most common collective noun for cats is a clowder. But you can also have a clutter, a pounce or a glaring!
Dummy boards were commonly used in the 18th and 19th centuries and were often placed in the fireplace or by the door.
These beauties have been cut by hand from thick, FSC certified mdf, before being painted and collaged on both sides with the cat images. The images are sourced from vintage book plates and have been carefully selected, edited and enhanced to make these large cutouts.
Pop them on a shelf or by a door for the perfect trompe-l’oeil effect. The perfect companion!
Each one has been given three coats of water-based varnish and they are around 28cm in height.
I have adapted the design and they now come with a flat base to enable them to be freestanding (see final image). If you would prefer yours without the base then please add a note at checkout.
