Upheaval (1989).

An original mixed media drawing on plaster.

Reminiscent of frescoes and the timeworn patina of walls in every corner of the world.

I allow the imperfections and surface depth of the plaster to suggest my initial mark making and do not set out with an image in mind.

This drawing uses chalk pastel and transferred colour from magazine pages. The edges are fragile and vulnerable and may shed a little plaster from time to time but this is intentional.

The plaster surface is mounted on board and has a wire hook for hanging.

Approximately 30cm square.
