Natural history insect print in a recycled wood frame
Natural history insect print in a recycled wood frame
A set of lovely natural history prints that look fantastic as a single artwork, a complementary pair or set of three.
Wonderfully detailed bug prints of a beautiful moth, a little cricket and a jewelled beetle in a subtle colour palette, taken from original paintings by Jan Augustin van der Goes.
Printed individually, by hand, onto unbleached cotton canvas to give great depth and texture.
These frames are assembled by hand from recycled teak parquet flooring. The blocks are mounted on board before being sanded back to the bare wood and finished with a good drink of teak oil before being paired with the print. An inner bead of leather finishes the inside of the frame neatly before a final coat of beeswax polish is added to give a subtle, soft sheen.
External dimensions 25cm square.
